Price fields

Base price, special price, and which one the shopper sees.

Prices shown while a cart is being assembled have to match what your checkout will charge, or the hand-off breaks the shopper’s trust at the worst possible moment.

Base and special

Two numbers travel with each product: the base price, and a special price when a promotion applies. A special is only treated as a special when it is actually lower than the base price, which avoids the common data problem of a promotional field that is populated but not discounted.

Numbers, not strings

Connectors prefer clean numeric price fields and coerce formatted values such as a currency-prefixed string when that is all the source system exposes. If your systems can return numbers, return numbers.

Where pricing logic lives

Neomi reads prices, it does not compute them. Promotion logic, loyalty pricing, and any basket-level discounting stay in your systems and are applied by your checkout.

Note on this page

Described from the current implementation rather than from a published contract. Field names and shapes are what Neomi normalizes to today; our engineering team confirms the public naming when the reference is finalized.
